Monika Machon

Monika Machon was AIG’s Treasurer from October 2013 to January 2016, responsible for capital and liquidity management, global treasury operations, bank relations, economics, and recovery & resolution planning. From 2009 to 2013 as Global Head of Asset Management (2009-2013), Monika oversaw research, trading and portfolio management teams managing assets over $750 billion. During a period of heightened growth (2005 to 2008), she held the dual post of CEO and Head of Fixed Income for AIG Asset Management Europe Limited, with business oversight of Compliance, Finance and Human Resources, and serving as primary contact with the UK regulator. Her Board experience includes former Chair (2008-2010) and member of AIG Asset Management Europe Limited, and the AIG Retirement Board. She currently serves as a Board Member of Tanenbaum (a not-for-profit entity focused on promoting peace through interreligious understanding), and the Women’s Forum of New York.
During Monika’s career she demonstrated a passion for team leadership and development, succession planning and diversity. She served as Dean for the AIG Women’s Executive Leadership Institute, established in 2013 as a series of 18-month programs for further development and promotion of proven AIG women leaders. She served as co-sponsor for the Women and Allies employee resource group, as a mentor or sponsor of numerous colleagues, and as an industry participant in leadership and diversity seminars. Monika was trained by Jack and Carol Weber, University of Virginia Darden School, to teach AIG’s most senior executive leadership program, “Leading One AIG”.
Monika has Doctor of Jurisprudence and MBA (Finance) degrees from Indiana University, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rockhurst College. She is a member of the Wisconsin Bar, and a CFA charter holder.
