Liz Leonard is SVP, Chief Marketing Officer for the Consumer Bank at Synchrony Financial.

After graduating from Pennsylvania State University with a BA in Telecommunications, Liz began her career at Shadow Broadcast Services as the Marketing Leader for the Washington and Baltimore offices. Liz returned to school to pursue an MBA from Georgetown University and upon graduation was recruited by Citi Cards into their Management Associate executive rotational program. She completed rotations in the US and Canada focused on banking products cross-sell, insurance product development, call center retention and co-brand portfolio management. After her rotational program ended she took an acquisitions leader role in the Citi Small Business Card group with a focus on the emerging digital acquisitions landscape.

In 2004, Liz left Citi and joined the Customer Solutions group within GE Money (now Synchrony Financial). She was hired as the Channels leader, building out marketing channels across customer touchpoints and portfolios to cross-sell mortgages, loans, membership clubs and debt cancellation. In 2007, Liz was appointed the General Manager of the new Lord & Taylor portfolio that transitioned to GE Money later that year.

After 3 years in the GM role, Liz moved to GE Capital HQ Global Marketing team to help design and implement the launch of Access GE across GEC’s global footprint. Then returned to the consumer side of GE Capital in 2014 to lead marketing for Synchrony’s newly-formed Consumer Bank. She is responsible for brand development, website/mobile enhancements, print and digital advertising, analytics and new product development for the Bank.
